ef – a tale of melodies episode 11 released

…so close yet so far… hope fully we’ll get ep 12 done soon.
Also, on a side note – Who will win speed-wise on MF:
Menclave vs Blu-rays
ScR3W Note:
So D; been a while… anyway, as you can see, we ARE working on stuff, however slow…
As for Gundam, we started working on it again since a few days ago, so we should start releasing soon.
Main problem was that our TSer started taking some new classes or w/e and so he’s been pretty much gone
for weeks now, but one of the other TSers has volunteered to take over for now, and he’s already started
catching up. We’re sorry for the loooong delay on gundam, but there’s not much we could do about it…
fansubbing works with volunteers after all. Again, even if other projects are moving, they’re in no way responsible
for the gundam delays. Those are different teams.

Hey did anyone see episode 20 by gSS? Do you know what they did differently with their episode compared to like 19? I actually could watch the karaoke with no audio lag.
Menclave is the same. No audio lag.
gSS tends to use softsubbed karaoke, this time however they used hardsubbed karaoke for the Opening.
Thank you silverfire, for killing my brain this wonderful school morning.

@dogemperor
I run ubuntu on a 1.6ghz atom (that’s a fucking weak proc) and i can almost play 720p mkv’s without stuttering, and SD mkv’s work without a a single stutter. Perhaps you’re using a fail player like VLC – i suggest using SMPlayer – it fully supports styled .ass subtitle tracks out of the box and has little trouble with mkv’s. Also, fyi you can use CoreAVC in linux – although the performance yields are not as great. You need to compile it into MPlayer – it’s not the easiest thing in the world, but this http://code.google.com/p/coreavc-for-linux/ should help you somewhat
So does Menclave use hard or soft subs?
@Narutofreak1 –
The OP and ED (and usually insert songs) are hard subbed. This is where you see all the flashy effects, like the flowing particles and transient color effects on the karaoke.
Otherwise, it’s all soft subbed, hence, Menclave release the ASS files. With soft subs you can quickly extract it from the container and edit if required.
As for the other speed group that released their Episode 20, they’ve ‘parodied’ (in a way) Menclave in the OP by going hard subbed and adding the effects (as opposed to their usual soft sub). Their credits, if you’ve been following the various Gundam 00 discussion forums and their releases, are quite amusing… they even expose a Menclave staff spy(!).
I’m pretty sure this has already been asked (sorry), but is Menclave going to do a BDrip of Gundam00?
